TIMELINE – ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- 2012: LFH was created & incorporated. We started with the Grocery Bags Program providing 30 Grocery bags a month and feeding approximately 100 homeless on a weekly basis in Ontario California.
- 2013: Started the School Backpack Program with 30 children a week in one school. Homeless feedings and Grocery Bags Program expanded to new areas.
- 2014: Grocery Bags program doubled and new partnerships were formed to sustain local food pantries.
- 2015: So-Cal Partnership programs were formed to fund local homeless and low-income weekly feeding events. Started providing socks in bulk for the homeless through “The Cozy Collection”.
- 2016: First New Beginnings Program Recipient Graduated! School Backpack Program expanded to 10 schools with 30 children each.
- 2017: All programs expanded to more families in need and we created Disaster Relief Program in response to Hurricane Harvey. It was expanded that same year to provide aid in response to Hurricane Irma in Florida (August 2017), Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico (September 2017), a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico (September 2017) and Volcanic Eruption in Guatemala (October 2017) .
- 2018: All programs continued to grow. Expanded the Homeless Feeding Program to include backpacks with food, toiletries and socks which are given at San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland, CA. Also provided food and financial support to Federal Employees affected by the 2018 Government Shut down (December 2018).
- 2019: All programs continued to grow. School Backpack Program now serves 16 schools. We also provided aid in response to Hurricane Dorian in Bahamas (August 2019).
- 2020: Responded to the COVID 19 pandemic by growing feeding programs, providing tents for homeless camps as well as over $55.000 in PPE which was shipped directly to hospitals when it was most needed.
- 2021: We continued all programs including the ones established in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. We responded to the Texas Winter Storm by providing financial help to 15 families who had severe property damage and loss of income and provided 843+ pounds of food to a local food bank and 843+ gallons of water to a Non Profit that hand delivered the water to families in need. We expanded COVID relief efforts to help in India by sending 7 oxygen concentrators, 5 CPAP machines and PPE supplies as well as by providing food to be given out a local hospitals. We also sent relief to Philippines to support rebuilding of The Philippines National Hospital which was affected by a fire providing 50 electric fans and 1 Operating room set of major surgical instruments for GYNE-ONCO. We also sent help to Philippines to restock several community pantries under the Diocese of Caloocan serving low income families affected by the Pandemic as well as to help feed kids between 6 months and 4 years to prevent malnutrition. We also sent $10,000 in aid to give food to those affected by the 7.2 magnitude Earthquake in Haiti.
- 2022: All programs continued to grow. School Backpack Program now serves 24 schools. Disaster and Emergency Assistance Program provided $10,000 in aid to support relief efforts in Ukraine and $5,600 in financial support to people who needed emergency assistance due to unforeseen life situations. New Horizons program selected 5 college students in their Junior or Senior year at risk of dropping out due to financial difficulties. $15,000 in scholarships were distributed to the selected applicants. Additional $50,000 received in grants that were distributed to veterans and food pantries. We now support 8 food pantries. 1000 Thanksgiving food packages were distributed to those who would go without.
- 2023: All programs continued to grow. School Backpack Program serves 24 schools. 500 bags of food were donated to school district. 1600+ sets of school supplies provided for children across 20 schools. Disaster relief program provided $34,545 in aid to support Turkey earthquake relief efforts, $25,000 for Maui wildfires relief efforts, $10,000 for Morocco earthquake relief efforts, $11,300 for Israeli and Palestinian conflict relief efforts, $5850 to Philippines for 24 wall fans in the charity wards for children and Christmas Gift Packs to families in need in partnership with the Diocese of Kalookan. Emergency Assistance program provided $8000 in financial support to people who needed emergency assistance due to unforeseen life situations. New Horizons program selected 8 college students in their Junior or Senior year at risk of dropping out due to financial difficulties. $24,000 in scholarships were distributed to the selected applicants. We now support 9 food pantries. 500 Thanksgiving food packages were distributed to those who would go without.
